## About Ideogram V3

Ideogram 3.0 is the text-to-image model released in late March 2025 by Ideogram, a lab founded in 2022 by former Google Brain researchers Mohammad Norouzi, William Chan, Chitwan Saharia, and Jonathan Ho. The company built its reputation on one hard problem: rendering legible, correctly spelled text inside generated images, the weak point of most image models. Version 3.0 keeps that focus while adding stronger photorealism, a style reference system, and a style library Ideogram sizes at 4.3 billion presets.

On Artifio, Ideogram 3.0 runs alongside 100+ other models in one workspace, each generation paid individually from a single wallet.

## Features

- Renders stylized, accurate text inside images, including long and complex layouts
- Style references: upload up to 3 images to steer the aesthetic of a generation
- Reusable style codes and a random style feature drawing on 4.3 billion presets
- Photorealism upgrades over 2.0: natural skin tones, accurate reflections, and more physical lighting
- Works with Ideogram's Canvas editor for Magic Fill inpainting and Extend outpainting
- In Ideogram's own human evaluations, 3.0 scored 1132 Elo against Imagen 3 at 1023, Flux Pro at 998, and DALL-E 3 at 910

## What people use it for

- Logos, wordmarks, and brand asset drafts with real, readable copy
- Posters, flyers, and packaging mockups where the text has to spell correctly
- Landing page and product visual concepts generated from a single prompt
- Campaign batches held to one look via style references and style codes

## Reported strengths

- Text rendering is still the model's differentiator, covering long compositions that most competitors garble
- The style reference system gives repeatable aesthetic control without prompt engineering
- Photorealism reached a level The Decoder described as blurring the line between generated and real images
- Available to free-tier users at launch, unusual for a flagship release

## Reported limitations

- Text rendering is no longer a unique selling point: The Decoder notes GPT-4o-class models now handle text in images well too
- Wikipedia records that the model still struggles with ambigrams and similarly constrained typography
- The launch Elo comparison is Ideogram's own evaluation rather than an independent benchmark
- Ideogram has since moved on: version 4.0 was released and open-sourced in June 2026, so 3.0 is no longer the lab's newest model
