## About ElevenLabs Turbo V2.5

ElevenLabs Turbo v2.5 is a low-latency text-to-speech model from ElevenLabs, the New York speech-synthesis company founded in 2022 by Piotr Dabkowski and Mateusz Staniszewski. Released on 19 July 2024, it extended the fast Turbo line to 32 languages, adding Vietnamese, Hungarian, and Norwegian, and was aimed at conversational applications where response time matters as much as voice quality.

At launch ElevenLabs said the update made speech generation in Hindi, French, Spanish, Mandarin, and 27 other languages roughly three times faster, with English about 25 percent faster, bringing low-latency speech to languages spoken by close to 80 percent of the world's population. On artifio.ai it runs alongside 100+ other models in one workspace, pay-per-generation from a single wallet.

## Features

- Text-to-speech generation in 32 languages: every language supported by Eleven Multilingual v2 plus Hungarian, Norwegian, and Vietnamese.
- Roughly 3x faster generation in non-English languages compared with the previous Turbo generation, per the launch announcement.
- English output about 25 percent faster than the prior Turbo model.
- Positioned by ElevenLabs for low-latency conversational AI in widely spoken languages such as Hindi, Mandarin, Spanish, and French.
- ElevenLabs' current model documentation groups it with Flash v2.5 and calls the two functionally equivalent, apart from Flash's lower average latency.

## What people use it for

- Multilingual voice agents and customer-support bots that need fast spoken replies.
- Interactive apps and games where audio has to come back quickly after a text event.
- Phone-style assistants serving Hindi, Spanish, or Mandarin speakers.
- Drafting narration in any of the 32 languages before re-rendering with a slower, more expressive model.

## Reported strengths

- Wide language coverage for a speed-focused model: 32 languages against the 29 of Multilingual v2.
- Large latency gains at release, with 3x faster non-English generation and 25 percent faster English.
- A practical middle ground when a project needs many languages and quick turnaround from one model.

## Reported limitations

- ElevenLabs' model documentation now lists Turbo v2.5 as deprecated and recommends the Flash models, which it describes as functionally equivalent with lower average latency.
- ElevenLabs positions Multilingual v2, not the Turbo line, as its most emotionally aware speech model, so expressive narration is better served elsewhere in the catalogue.
- No inline audio tags and no multi-speaker dialogue mode; those controls arrived with Eleven v3.
